Why Psychoanalysis
I am drawn to psychoanalysis because it takes human experience seriously in all its depth, contradictions, and mystery. Rather than reducing people to symptoms or quick solutions, it asks why we feel as we do, why we repeat the patterns that shape our lives, even when they cause pain.
Psychoanalysis gives language to the hidden parts of the self—dreams, memories, slips, and silences—and treats them as meaningful rather than accidental. What resonates most with me is its patience and respect for complexity: the belief that understanding comes through listening, reflection, and time. In a world that often pushes for speed and certainty, psychoanalysis offers a slower, more humane way of making sense of who we are and how we can grow and develop through a better understanding of ourselves.
